We are expanding our supplier network: Looking towards Vietnam

One of the fastest growing economies in the area

Getting a strong supply chain is all about continuous improvement. Most recently, Sales Director, Thorben Reinholdt Jensen, went to Vietnam to look for new suppliers.

He explains about the visit:

“Vietnam is an interesting country. It’s an emerging manufacturing market that offers a highly competitive production cost.

On top of that, we in the EU have some very favorable trade agreements with the country. I’m excited for the future with our new Vietnamese suppliers.”

Thorben visited 8 different manufacturers.

Supply chain management is more complex than ever

More buyers and supply chain managers are getting restricted from the top.

Many are mandated to adopt a China+1 strategy, others have specific sourcing countries completely banned. Yet they still have to meet quality standards and keep the prices down.

All the more vital is it for us to have a diverse supplier network. We meet this need for diversity by expanding the supplier hubs we use to multiple countries. Vietnam being the latest addition.

Building a reliable supplier base

Our supplier relations are build on mutual trust. That means that we’ve known some of the manufacturers from the beginning.

A tip for finding reliable manufacturer is to operate in manufacturing hubs. Here, manufacturers are used to doing business with Western countries, and they have extremely professional setups due to the high demands from the West.
